Dorothy SchuppDorothy M. Schupp, 86, of Fryburg passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on February10, 2017.

Born on August 21, 1930 in Shippenville, she was the daughter of Alfred and Opal Wurster Guth.

On June 21, 1952 she was married to Robert J. Schupp at St. Michael Church in Fryburg by Monsignor Francis Theobald.

She was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg all of her life and also a member of the St. Michael Rosary Society.

Dorothy was a homemaker and also in her early years she worked at Puritan Pottery in Shippenville, and at Grants Department Store. At the Arlington Hotel in Oil City, she worked with her twin sister Doris.

She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Robert and their children Daniel Schupp and his wife Nancy of Erie; Mary Schupp-Candela and her husband Sean of Erie; William Schupp and his wife Pam of Fryburg; Mike Schupp and his wife Tara of Erie; Jacqueline Lewis and her husband Dave of Shippenville; Ronald Schupp and his wife Beth of Mercer; Jan Griebel and her husband Matt of Lucinda.

Also surviving are twenty-five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Siblings surviving include a twin sister Doris Kramer and her husband Lloyd of Oil City; Helen Obenrader and her husband Jim of Shippenville; Clara Sonoski of Shippenville; Cathy Shingledecker and her husband Roger of Shippenville; Alfred Guth Jr. and his wife Shirley of Shippenville.

Also surviving are brothers-in-law Donald Schupp of Oil City; Jim Schupp and his wife Grace of Erie; and Ralph “Nick” Lander of Venus; sisters-in-law Mona Rita Guth of Fryburg and Donna Guth of Oil City. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant grandchildren Jonathan Candela and Isaac Schupp; two sisters Rita McGraw and Marian Lander and two brothers Gerald and Henry Guth; four brothers-in-law Bernard Schupp, John Schupp, Jack McGraw and Joe Sonoski; and three sisters-in-law Helen Schupp, Monica Schupp, and Anna Rose Schupp.

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Monday,February 13, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg, with Monsignor John Swogger presiding. Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s honor to St. Michael Church in Fryburg or the Alzheimer’s Association.
