CRANBERRY, Pa. (EYT) – Four people were injured in a crash on Big Egypt Road yesterday.

Franklin-based state police said the accident happened around 3:41 a.m. yesterday when 20-year-old Andrew M. O’Neil, of Oil City, blacked out while traveling on Big Egypt Road in Cranberry Township.

Police said O’Neil’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a guide rail, before crashing into an embankment.

The vehicle’s rear-end then came off the ground and the roof of the vehicle struck a tree. It then struck the ground with its passenger’s side.

O’Neil was transported to UPMC Northwest for treatment of major injuries.

Three passengers — a 15-year-old Oil City girl, a 17-year-old Oil City boy, and a 13-year-old Oil City girl, were transported to UPMC Northwest for treatment of moderate injuries.
