Driver Escapes Injury in Route 157 Crash

PINEGROVE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say around 2:30 p.m. on January 31, a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 157, west of Hampton Road, in Pinegrove Township, Venango County.

According to police, 21-year-old Matthew J. McFadden of Seneca was traveling west on SR 157 and drove over an icy patch on the roadway that caused his 2000 Jeep Wrangler to slide.

McFadden tried to regain control of his vehicle but over corrected and slide off the east berm of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

He was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Pinegrove Volunteer fire Department responded to the scene and established traffic control.
