Driver Eating Sandwich Crashes into Barrier on Route 8

SUGARCREEK, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police say a one-vehicle crash occurred Friday morning on State Route 62, in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.

Police say around 6:18 a.m., 21-year-old Tyler J. Carless, of Conneautville, was traveling on Route 8 toward Franklin in a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze while eating a sandwich.

Carless became distracted and drove into the end of the barrier dividing the highway over the bridge, according to police.

The vehicle became disabled from the impact and slid into the right lane where it came to a final rest.

Carless was using a seat belt and was not injured.

He was cited for careless driving, according to police.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Lowery’s Towing.
