Driver Escapes Injury in One-Car Crash on Route 62

VICTORY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say around 8:27 a.m. on December 10, a one-car accident occurred on Route 62 (Mercer Road), in Victory Township, Venango County.

According to police, 55-year-old Christine M. Bayuk, of Greenville, was traveling east on SR 62 and lost control of her 2005 Mazda. The car traveled across the westbound lane and struck an embankment with its front end.

Police say after impact, the car slid across the roadway and struck a guide rail with its right rear corner. It came to a final rest facing north in the middle of the roadway.

Bayuk was using a seat belt and was not injured.

She was charged with a traffic violation.

Polk Fire Department and Lowry Towing assisted at the scene.
