Driver Injured in Oakland Township Crash

policeOAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police responded to a one vehicle accident on Cooperstown Road in Oakland Township, Venango County.

Police say 74-year-old Joseph Neeley, of Cooperstown, was driving west in a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo around 2:29 p.m. February 7.

According to police, the vehicle drifted onto the right shoulder of the roadway.

When Neeley tried to correct the vehicle, it lost traction in the loose gravel and rotated counter-clockwise, crossing the opposing lane.

The vehicle struck a fence post, continued to rotate and struck an embankment with the rear bumper.

The vehicle came to final rest facing north.

Neeley was injured in the crash but police did not report the severity of the injuries.
