Driver Loses Control, Crashes Into Tractor Trailer on State Route 8

CHERRYTREE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a driver lost control of his vehicle and struck the rear of a tractor trailer on Route 8 in Cherrytree Township on Thursday afternoon.

According to police, around 2:59 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, Christopher M. Kline, 27, of Oil City was operating a 2013 Ford F-150, traveling south on State Route 8 just south of March Lane, in Cherrytree Township.

Police say Kline failed to maintain his lane of travel and veered into the northbound lane, sideswiping the rear of of a northbound tractor trailer operated by Simon D. Martin, 25, of Sainte Melanie, Quebec.

According to police, Kline’s vehicle crossed into the northbound lane after the initial impact and then left the roadway before traveling approximately 30 yards where it came to a final rest in the woods.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and no injuries were reported.

Kline’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Minich’s Towing.

Martin’s vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.

Kline was cited for a lane violation.

Cherrytree Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
