DUI Suspected after Franklin Man Allegedly Crashes Car Twice in Same Day

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin Police, on October 15, 2014, at approximately 11:58 p.m., dispatchers received two simultaneous reports of two separate vehicle accidents involving a dark-colored Cadillac.

Franklin Police were initially dispatched to Spring Street for a report of a dark-colored Cadillac that drove down a hill and “onto a wall.”

A second report indicated that a dark-colored Cadillac struck another vehicle in the parking lot of the Corner Pocket, then fled the scene.

Upon arriving at the scene, police spoke to David. M. McDonald, 44, of Franklin, who identified himself as the operator of the Cadillac.

McDonald allegedly admitted to police that he had been drinking and subsequently failed a field sobriety test.

McDonald is facing the following charges:

  • DUI
  • Driving with a suspended license (DUI related)
  • Duty to give information and render aid
  • Reckless driving
  • Accidents involving attended vehicle
  • Equipment violations for faulty brakes
  • McDonald was processed and released by the Franklin Police Department.
