DUI Suspected in Early Morning Crash in Sugarcreek Borough

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — DUI charges are pending against a 45-year-old Oil City woman after an early morning crash on Rocky Grove Avenue.

According to police, around 2:27 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, a known 45-year-old Oil City woman was driving south on Rocky Grove Avenue in Sugarcreek Borough. The woman was negotiating a right curve in the road when she crossed into the oncoming traffic lane. She continued to travel off the east berm into the yard of a residence along Rocky Grove Avenue where her vehicle hit a mailbox, a gas line marker, and several trees.

The vehicle caught fire and had disabling damage to the entire vehicle.

The woman was wearing her seatbelt and suffered minor injuries. She was transported by Community Ambulance to UPMC Northwest for treatment.

Rocky Grove VFD and Reno VFD assisted at the scene.

Upon further investigation, the known female driver was suspected of DUI. DUI and related charges are pending.

Her name was not released.
