E. Pauline Flockerzi

E. Pauline Flockerzi, 96, of Tionesta, died January 27, 2018, at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Ashland Township, Clarion County, on January 6, 1922, a daughter of the late Arthur A. and Lelah P. Ray Hartzell.

Mrs. Flockerzi was a member of the Heckathorn United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Pinegrove Township Volunteer Fire Department and a life member of the Department. She was a member of the Pinegrove Homemakers, the Retired Senior Volunteer Corps, and the Leeper Senior Center.

Pauline enjoyed sewing, embroidering, crafts, spending time with family and friends, and helping others.

Mrs. Flockerzi was a graduate of the class of 1940 of Ashland Consolidated School, Kossuth. She was employed as a secretary and stenographer in the Army Transportation Department and the Veterans Administration, Washington, DC from June 1942 to June 1951, then worked as a secretary in the credit department of Knox Glass Inc in Knox for five years. Later she worked as a teacher’s aide for 14 years in the Cranberry Area School District at the Pinegrove Elementary School, retiring in June of 1981.

She was married to Earl B. Tart of Dunn, NC, and he preceded her in death. She was then married to Lloyd Flockerzi on April 11, 1957, and he preceded her in death on June 28, 1990.

She is survived by a son, Paul B. Flockerzi and his wife Kathleen of Tionesta; two grandsons, Allen P. Flockerzi and his wife Vicki of Marienville, and Charles A. Flockerzi and his wife Jennifer of Mercer; six great-grandchildren, Allen Jr., Kayla, Gregory, Nathan, Benjamin, and Charles Jr.; two step-great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Elizabeth; and five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Ray A. Hartzell of St. Simmons Island, GA, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters and their husbands, Phyllis and Donald Bishop and Mary Etta and Stanley (Bub) Klingler.

Friends may call at the Heckathorn United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. where funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rob Kifer, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.
