Early Morning Convenience Store Incident Leads to Assault Charges

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Two Venango County residents were charged with assault after an early-morning incident Sunday at the Sheetz store parking lot in Cranberry Township.

According to Franklin-based State Police, a 22-year-old Oil City man and a 22-year-old Kennerdell woman, both known, but unidentified, assaulted each other during a domestic dispute at 3:07 a.m. Sunday.

Additionally, the 22-year-old Oil City man allegedly damaged a vehicle belonging to a 49-year-old female and threatened physical violence against a 48-year-old man.

Police said the 22-year-old Oil City man was arraigned at District Judge Patrick Lowrey’s office on assault and criminal mischief charges. He was remanded to the Venango County Jail after failing to post bail.

Court documents were filed at Lowrey’s office charging the 22-year-old Kennerdell female with assault.

The documents are expected to be released to exploreVenango.com on Monday.
