Edna L. (Wade) Usoff, 87, a resident of 46 Madison St., Franklin died peacefully at 7:15 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017, at Oakwood Heights of Oil City, following a period of declining health.

She was born March 4, 1930, in Oil City, a beloved daughter of the late Morris Curtis Wade and Helen A. Coe Wade.

Edna was a 1948 graduate of Oil City High School and a 1952 graduate of Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, where she earned her B.S. degree in Education.

She had formerly taught pre-school for a year at Hoonah Elementary School from 1952 to 1953 within the U.S. Territory of Alaska. For more than 23 years, she had worked as an elementary school teacher at Central Elementary School, within the Franklin Area School District, and had taught pre-school as needed.

Mrs. Usoff enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, being in nature and had travelled extensively. She will always be remembered by family and friends as an excellent cook. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the Homemaker’s.

She was an active and faithful member for more than 60 years of the Franklin Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, where she also had taught Sunday school.

She was married July 2, 1955, at St. Patrick Church in Franklin by the late Reverend John Kirk to Robert E. Usoff, who survives.

In addition to her beloved husband of 62 years, she is survived by her children: Sherilyn M. Seyler and husband, Paul, of Port Angeles, Washington, Alice L. Shaw of Franklin, Dr. Joseph M. Usoff and wife, Dr. Catherine, of Acton, Massachusetts and Carol R. Hurst, also of Franklin.

Also surviving are her grandchildren: Michael, Lisa, Timothy, Rebecca, Nicholas, Jade and Sophia; and great- grandchildren: Michael, Jack, Bentley, Isaac, Hunter and soon to be born, Caden.

Also surviving is her sister: Carol C. Morris and husband, Buck, of Kalispell, Montana; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Wade; and by her sister, Virginia Ashbaugh.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk St., Franklin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Reverend Scott A. Woodlee, pastor of the Franklin Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, officiating.

Private interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens at Cranberry.
