RIMERSBURG, Pa. (EYT) – An 80-year-old man died following a two-vehicle crash late Wednesday afternoon in Madison Township, Clarion County.

State police in Clarion tell exploreClarion.com that the accident happened on Wildcat Road around 4:07 p.m. when a 1997 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck operated by 80-year-old Dalton Himes, of Rimersburg, rear-ended a 2008 Dodge Ram operated by 60-year-old Dale Guntrum of Rimersburg.

According to police, Dalton’s vehicle then traveled off the west berm and collided with a tree.

Dalton was transported to Clarion Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Initial reports indicate that Dalton died as a result of a medical condition and not from injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

Guntrum was not injured in the accident.

Southern Clarion Ambulance and Rimersburg VFD assisted at the scene.
