Elisabeth J. Hancox-Cerro

Elisabeth J. Hancox-Cerro, 57, a resident of 1316 Otter Street, Franklin, died peacefully at 5:10 PM Monday, May 14, 2018 in The Caring Place of Franklin; following a period of declining health.

She was born December 20, 1960 in Franklin, a beloved daughter of the late: Richard S. and Mary Mahaffey Hancox.

Lisa was a 1978 graduate of Franklin High School. While in high school she was a prominent member of the swim team, setting many of the school’s diving records as well as being a standout track athlete. She also enjoyed participating as a cast member in the school’s theatrical productions, namely: “Hello Dolly” and “Guys and Dolls”.

Following high school, she attended a school of medical transcription in Pittsburgh. She also had worked for a number of years as a sales representative with National City Bank.

Lisa’s love for the fine arts and theatre continued throughout her lifetime. She was a cast member of many productions with The Barrow Civic-Theatre of Franklin. Among her favorites were “Blithe Spirit” and “Oliver”.

She loved animals, dogs in particular, and enjoyed the companionship of her beloved collies.

She was married May 21, 1983 at Lakeside Chapel in Carson City, NV to Douglas A. Cerro, who preceded her in death on December 5, 1989.

Lisa is survived by her son, Richard A. Cerro of Lakewood, OH; her significant other Robert Cerro of Franklin; her sister, Cathy Stachera and husband Jerry of Erie and by her brother, Richard A. Hancox and his wife Barb of Kennerdell.

Lisa also leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Vincent Cerro, Casey Hancox, Keeley Hancox, Steve Huefner, Katie Cope, Patrick Huefner, Kristian Stachera, Reagan Stachera and Aaron Stachera; as well as many loving extended family members and friends. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.

In accordance of her wishes, there will be no public visitation.

Private funeral services are planned by her family.
