Elizabeth V. Kahle

Elizabeth Violet Kahle, formerly of Clarion, passed away peacefully at Brookside Senior Living in Brookville on October 9, 2018. She was 103 years of age.

Mrs. Kahle was born on November 16, 1914, in Miola, Highland Township, Clarion County, the daughter of the late Oscar and Maude (DeVilder) Reed. Elizabeth was one of 11 children and was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

On November 8, 1933, she married Heber C. Kahle who preceded her in death in 1997.

Mrs. Kahle and her husband were the former owners and operators of the Kindle and Kahle Store in Limestone (now Palmer’s Store). She devoted most of her life to raising her family and being a homemaker. She was formerly involved in the Rebekahs and she was a member of New Rehoboth – Greenville Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Kahle is survived by her daughter, Lois Kahle, of Clarion; two grandchildren, Lori Poor and Tracy Head; seven great-grandchildren; and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Duane R. Kahle; her daughter, Frances McChesney; two grandchildren, David Kahle and Jeff McChesney; and her seven brothers and three sisters.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:p00 p.m. on Saturday and again from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday with Rev. Colleen McGowan, pastor of New Rehoboth – Greenville Presbyterian officiating. Interment will be in the New Rehoboth Cemetery.
