CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Emergency Crews responded to a hit-and-run crash Monday night in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say the accident happened around 8:05 p.m. on State Route 257 at its intersection with Fairfield Drive.

Harsad C. Patel, 63, of Grove City, was stopped at a red light and waiting to turn left onto State Route 257. As the signal turned green, he proceeded into the intersection.

Patel began to apply his brakes after noticing the headlights of an oncoming vehicle.

His 2016 Toyota Avalon was then struck by the unidentified vehicle.

The vehicle then fled the scene.

The impact of the crash caused Patel’s bumper to detach from the vehicle. Additionally, all front and side airbags deployed.

Patel was wearing a safety belt and was not injured.

Seneca VFD also assisted at the scene. The vehicle was removed from the scene by Venango Towing.
