Emergency Crews Respond to Early Morning DUI Crash in Sugarcreek

SUGARCREEK, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say drinking and driving lead to a crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Sugarcreek Borough.

According to police, around 2:27 a.m. on Sunday, April 29, a known 22-year-old man was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and was involved in a crash on Front Street in Sugarcreek Borough.

The driver was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and subsequently arrested for D.U.I.

The passenger — a known 18-year-old female — was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and subsequently arrested for Underage Drinking.

D.U.I. and related charges are pending.

Both the driver and the passenger were wearing seatbelts and were not injured in the crash.

Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
