Emlenton Man Faces Charges for Hindering Apprehension of Brother

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – An Emlenton man has been charged with concealing his brother from authorities.

According to court documents, criminal charges have been filed against Kurt Allen Zacherl, 27, of Emlenton.

On March 14, the Clarion County Sheriff’s Department was attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Levi William Zacherl.

According to a criminal complaint, upon arrival at the Zacherl residence on Schurers Lane in Richland Township, Venango County, the sheriff’s department and Trooper Graf, of PSP Clarion, advised Kurt Zacherl that they had an arrest warrant for his brother, Levi Zacherl.

Kurt Zacherl allegedly stated that his brother was not there and that he had not seen him in three weeks. He gave authorities permission to search his home, where they found Levi Zacherl hiding under a blanket in the living room.

Kurt Zacherl said he was only trying to look out for his brother, the complaint states.

Kurt Zacherl was arraigned at 6:05 p.m. on March 14 in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on a second-degree misdemeanor charge of Hindering Apprehension/Prosecution-Harbor Or Conceal.

Unable to post $500.00 bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. on March 21 with Judge Fish presiding.
