Emlenton Man Jailed Following High Speed Chase

| August 31, 2017

LAWRENCE CO., Pa. (EYT) – An Emlenton man with a criminal history is behind bars after he wrecked his vehicle during a high speed chase last week in Lawrence County.

According to a published article on ncnewsonline.com, 49-year-old Kevin Lewis McFadden, who has an address in Emlenton and also one in Slippery Rock, led law enforcement officials on a two-county chase on Wednesday, August 23.

The chase began in Mercer County when a state trooper identified McFadden, who was wanted on several warrants; the trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on McFadden’s Chevrolet Cavalier. New Castle News detailed a wild run from police that included McFadden allegedly hitting a number of other vehicles before driving through a yard to evade authorities.

State police say McFadden made it into Washington Township, Lawrence County, and a trooper maneuvered his car forcing McFadden into hitting a tree, and he was arrested. He stated that he fled from authorities because of the arrest warrants.

McFadden is facing the following charges from this incident: fleeing and eluding police; reckless endangerment; DUI; criminal mischief; resisting arrest; flight to avoid apprehension; unauthorized transfer or use of registration; driving on a suspended license; reckless driving; and two counts each of trespass by a motor vehicle and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

He remains lodged in the Mercer County Jail on $10,000.00 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 7 in District Court.

He is also scheduled to appear in District Court on September 6 on charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and unauthorized use of a vehicle in relation to a May 2017 truck theft.

According to a previous exploreclarion.com story, McFadden was jailed in August 2015 after being accused of stealing farm machinery, scrap metal, and other equipment from various counties in western Pennsylvania.

Police reportedly recovered tractors, a wood chipper, and other farm equipment McFadden allegedly stole last fall in Clarion County.

Police say McFadden was known to hide in vehicles, abandoned strip mines, and other secluded areas.

He has fled from authorities multiple times, changed facial hair to avoid identification, and has led authorities on several high-speed chases, according to police.
