Emlenton Summerfest Continues

EMLENTON, Pa. (EYT) — The Emlenton Summerfest will be held July 11, 12, and 13.

The schedule for the Summerfest is as follows:

Friday, July 11

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — Townwide Trash & Treasure Sales

8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. — Digital Scavenger Hunt: Any ‘team’ [team is 2 or more people of any age] can enter the digital photography scavenger hunt by picking up list for hunt. You must register your team at the yard sale map table [on Main Street, corner of UniMart parking lot]. You have from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to gather as many of the requested photos on list you can get. The team with the highest number of points wins. No pre-hunt list available. Winner award at Sock Hop Dance.

10:00 a.m. — noon — Jr. Fishing Derby: Kahle Lake North Shore — The Fishing Derby is open to any child ages -toddler to age 16. Fishing Starts at 10am at the North Shore of Kahle’s Lake. Arrive before 10am to register. The derby starts promptly at 10am and ends at Noon.

6:30 p.m. — “The Colossal (Sandwich) Challenge”: Little It Deli on Main Street — Do you have a monstrous appetite? Do you think you can handle the Colossal Challenge at the Little it Deli? The Colossal Challenge is an eating challenge of our fried Mortadella sandwich. It is a 2.5 pound sandwich with 1 pound of mortadella, a half a pound of cheese, a huge bun and various toppings. The challenge will take place Friday July 11 @6:30pm at Little It Deli (Main St. across from the bank). If you and a friend are interested in taking the challenge stop by the deli and sign up. First 4 teams to sign up get the sandwich for free and a portion of the proceeds go to the Addison Palmer fund. You must pre-register so there are enough sandwiches prepared.

7:00 p.m. — “Emlenton’s Got Talent” — Kids Only Talent Show: Crawford Center Auditorium — Do you sing? Dance? Juggle or play an instrument? Maybe you have a few new jokes you’d like to try out? This showcase is open to Emlenton area youth, ages 18 and under. Call to register by July 6th. Rehearsals will be Monday and Thursday at 7pm at the Crawford Center. There will be an admission fee to the show. Please call Marty at 724-867-5102 to sign-up and show Emlenton your talent! This performance is open to the public. Join us and enjoy tomorrow’s performers today!

8:00 p.m. — Street Dance: Crawford Center Parking Lot

Saturday, July 12

8:00 a.m. — Softball Tournament: Little League Ball Field — The Emlenton Summer Festival will once again hold it’s annual Softball Tournament. This is a single-pitch, double-elimination tournament.

8:00 a.m. — Adult 5K Walk/Run: Hughes Park — Registration and Starting Line are located at Hughes Park on top of the hill by the ball fields. The out-and-back rolling course will be run on paved and gravel.

9:00 a.m. — Raft Race: Emlenton to Parker — If you build it, you may Float! Signed disclaimers must be turned in along with a registration fee to participate. Rafters registered by 30 JUNE 2014 will receive a free shirt. Max of 4 people per raft.

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. — Pony Rides: Behind The Mill

10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. — River Golf: The Festival “River Golf” is Saturday at the Riverview Apartments down by the River bank access. See if you can make a hole in one on the Allegheny.

10:30 a.m. — Kids Scavenger Hunt: Hughes Park — Open to all children 12 years of age and younger.

11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.: ACV Baseball Boosters Chicken

Noon — Frog Jumping Contest: Crawford Center Gym = Rules: Must be under the age of 14 to enter. You must have your own frog or share with a friend. Frogs not provided. Once frog is placed on pad you may not ..read more

12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. — Make-Your-Own Tie-Dyed T-Shirt: Amazing Stitches — Cost: 12 & under — $3.00, all others $5.00. 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. ONE T-shirt per child. Stop in at Amazing Stitches Monday thru Friday 10 a.m. to 6p.m. sign up. Select your shirt size when you sign up.

1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. — Kiddieland: Crawford Center Parking Lot — The children’s area will be full of great activities and games. FREE to all kids.

1:30 p.m. — Ice Cream Eating Contest: Emlenton Old Mill Creamery – Main Street & 2nd Street

2:00 p.m. — Baby Beautiful Contest Winners Announced: Main Street

2:30 p.m. – Kids Bike Race: Main Street — in front of the bank — To participate you MUST wear a helmet (not provided) NO EXCEPTIONS. Registration at 2:00 p.m., race begins at 2:30 p.m.

4:00 p.m. Rubber Duckie Race: Mineral Springs Park — The Summer Festival’s Rubber Duckie Race. Follow Main Street/PA-38 North. The park is located just outside of town. We will start at the walking bridge.

6:00 p.m. — Summer Festival Parade: Main Street

7:00 p.m. — 9:00 p.m. — Music on the Patio: Emlenton Mill

Dusk — Fireworks by Pyrotecnico

Sunday, July 13

Arts & Crafts & Food Vendors on Main Street

Noon to 4:00 p.m. — Car/Truck/Bike Cruise: Main Street — The Cruise is open to any car, truck, or bike. Registration starts at 10:30am at the Civic Club Building on Main Street. Look for the signs! Dash plaques.

HO Scale Model Train Display & Model Car/Truck Display will be held all weekend at Donaldson Motors on River Avenue, in Emlenton. Arts & Crafts & Food Vendors on Saturday & Sunday on Main Street
