EMLENTON, Pa. (EYT) — An Emlenton woman is facing felony charges after allegedly taking electronics from a home while the victim was incarcerated.

Court documents indicate Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 32-year-old Jennifer Palmer, of Emlenton.

According to a criminal complaint, around 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, Troopers Seybert and Young were dispatched to a residence on Hill Street in Emlenton in regard to a burglary.

Trooper Young interviewed the known female victim around 5:00 p.m.

The victim stated that on December 15, 2017, she got a ride to jail from Jennifer Sue Palmer and before she left — while Palmer was within listening distance — she told a known female where she had put the key to her residence. She said when she got out of jail, she returned to the residence to find that two Samsung 50-inch TVs, a wall mount, and an LG cell phone were missing from her apartment.

She said that the only people who knew where she put the key were a known woman and Jennifer Palmer.

Around 4:08 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, during an interview at the PSP Franklin Station, the known woman told police that she received a work order for Jennifer Sue Palmer on Tuesday, March 20. She said once the entered the residence, she fulfilled the work order and then confronted Palmer about the victim’s missing property.

The known woman stated that Palmer confessed to taking the two TVs, the heater life pro heater, and the LG cell phone out of the victim’s apartment after she took the victim to jail on December 15. The woman said that Palmer went to one of her closets and retrieved one of the TVs. The woman then gained possession of the TV and went to the Emlenton Police Department to file a complaint against Palmer. Officer O’Neil, of the Emlenton Police Department, told her she could return the TV to the victim, which she did, the complaint states.

Based on the investigation, on Thursday, March 29, the following charges were filed against Palmer in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office:

– Burglary — Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 1
– Theft By Unlaw Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1 (four counts)
– Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1 (four counts)
