FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — The Historic Franklin Preservation Association is now accepting entries for its annual Barbara Wohlstein Memorial Essay Competition.

The contest is open to ninth grade students residing in the Franklin or Valley Grove School Districts.

In 2003, HFPA board member Barbara Wohlstein envisioned an essay competition for the youth of Franklin that would expose them to the importance of preservation in their hometown.

The top three winners will receive monetary prizes.

Application forms are available at Franklin Public Library, Cooperstown Public Library, Franklin YMCA, the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce or on HFPA’s website at www.franklinpreservation.org.

The deadline for entries is Friday, April 24.
