Eric C. Lendrum

Eric C. Lendrum, 27, a resident of Glenview Avenue, Oil City, died peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2019, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Eric fought a courageous battle with the very rare and aggressive form of cancer, Synovial Sarcoma.

Born December 18, 1991, in Oil City, he was a beloved son of Bruce Edward Lendrum and the late Mary Leona Kibbe Lendrum.

Eric was a 2010 graduate of Oil City High School; where he enjoyed playing sports. He was a member of the high school’s basketball, baseball and football teams.

Following high school, he had worked as a laborer at Alturnamats and Franklin Industries.

Eric enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan. He enjoyed following the seasons of The Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.

Above all, he cherished his family and enjoyed the fun times they shared together. He adored his two young children and was proud to be their Dad. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and the many people whose lives he touched.

He was married May 18, 2018, to the former Abbigail Madison “Abby” Boocks, who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his two children: Jackson E. and Olivia M. Lendrum, both at home; his father, Bruce Edward Lendrum and wife, Cynthia of Lawrenceburg, KY; his step-sister, Hannah M. Royer and husband Geoffrey of Landisville, PA and paternal grandparents: Mary and Dave Myers of Williamsport and Robert Lendrum of Oil City.

Also surviving are his in-laws: Robert J. Boocks and wife, Darla K. Pasikoski of Oil City and Karrie A. Kearney and husband, Mark, also of Oil City; in addition to many loving aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his mother.

Friends may call Wednesday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in The First Presbyterian Church, 215 E. Bissell Avenue, Oil City, with Reverend Ronee Christy, pastor, officiating. Everyone, please meet at the church.

Immediately following the services, a luncheon for family and friends will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. All are welcome.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be directed to his family for the establishment of a trust fund for the future of his children.
