Eugene (Gene) Deeter, 81 of Carlton, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Marquette Hospice House.

Born, December 13, 1933 in Meadville, he was the son of Milton and Ruth Tingley Deeter.

He married Wanda Granda on November 13, 1954 and she preceded him in death on May 24, 2008.

Gene worked at the former Dunn’s Construction Company in Cochranton. Also, he and his wife owned and operated their country store in Hannaville as well as Deeter Trucking.

He was a member of the Franklin Moose.

Survivors include a daughter, Debby Deeter and her husband Dale of Carlton, 2 sisters, Pat Giles of Carlton and Doris Whitman of Meadville, a brother Richard Deeter and his companion Laurie of Erie. Six grandchildren, Bobbie Lane, Bryan Deeter, Eric Deeter, Shawnda Deeter, Amanda Boal and Emily Swartz, nine great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Diana Boal, a son David (Pud) Deeter, a sister Donna Fetterolf and two brother in laws, Walt Whitman and Ralph Giles.

There are no calling hours of services planned.

Interment will be in Peters Cemetery.
