Evelyn B DavisEvelyn B. Davis, 91, formerly of Camp Wil-Bea Road, passed away at 8:35 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7th at Sugar Creek Station.

Born October 18, 1925, in Detroit, MI, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Earl and Edith Jewell Thomas.

On September 2, 1948, she married Lawrence E. Davis Sr., who preceded her in death.

Evelyn was an active member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden, was a member of a bowling league, and enjoyed square dancing with her husband.

Evelyn was known for her compassion and care-giving of the elderly. She was a cancer survivor.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Lawrence Davis of Florida, and Craig Davis of Oil City; her daughter, Dawn Ausel and her husband, Richard, of Oil City; her brothers, Earl Thomas and his wife, Irene, of Indiana, Theodore Thomas and his wife, Joyce, of Florida, Gordon Thomas and his wife, Liz, of Florida, and Fred Thomas and his wife, Barb, of Oil City; her sisters, Lois Prichard of Dempseytown, and Dixie Marvin of Virginia; and her grat-granddaughter, Gace Jane Ausel.

She is additionally survived by her six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Randolph and Joseph Thomas; and her sisters, Patricia Goodwin and Violet Rhodes.

Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, February 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon). Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at the funeral home following visitation, with Rev. Dr. Ed Saxman, pastor of the Oakland United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 896, Hershey, PA 17033-0896, and/or the charity of one’s choice.
