Firefighters Battle Structure Fire at Riverside Drive House

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Emergency crews responded to the scene of a house fire on Riverside Drive, in Oil City.

According to a representative of Venango County 911, the call came in at 10:30 a.m.

Fire departments from Seneca, Franklin, Cornplanter, Rocky Grove, Oil City, Pinegrove, and President were dispatched to the scene.

Community Ambulance and State Police-Franklin were also called.

The house is a single-family residence.

No one was home at the time of the fire; however, firefighters rescued a dog from inside the residence.

According to Seneca Volunteer Fire Department Chief Paul Marsh, it is believed that the fire started on the second story of the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the fire marshal was called to the scene.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while crews battled the fire.
