FOREST CO., Pa. (EYT) — Forest Area grade school students have reported many adventures of “Flat Stanley” over the last few weeks.

Flat Stanley is a character in a children’s book written by Jeff Brown. Stanley’s adventures start when he is flattened by his bookcase. In the book, after being flattened, Stanley is mailed in a letter to California.

Using this same scenario, the students at Forest Area schools have been sending Stanley on “trips.”

Here are some of the results:

Flat Stanley Returns from Virginia and Florida

Kiarra Wagner’s Flat Stanley has returned from Virginia. While he was there he went to Great Falls Park, the movies, and The Creamery. He also came home with new clothes. (pictured above)

Riley Smith’s Flat Stanley returned from Florida with souvenirs. While he was there he went to the Daytona 500 and Disney. Stanley wrote Riley’s name on the race track and brought him back a “Goofy” shirt. Also in the box was saltwater taffy for the class to try. (pictured above)

Flat Stanley Returns from Greensburg and a Caribbean Cruise

Giannah Brown’s Flat Stanley has returned from Greensburg, Pa. He went to visit her friend Ben. Ben took Stanley to a birthday party.

Stella Zuck’s Flat Stanley returned to a snowstorm here in PA. He was not too happy about coming back to cold weather as he was on a Caribbean Cruise with Stella’s Grandparents. He also went to visit Great-grandma and two aunts.

Flat Stanley Returns from York, Pa.

Kayley Kuhn sent her Stanley to York, Pa., to visit her Aunt Faith. He got to visit family and then they took him on a road trip to Erie, Pa. Since Stanley was homesick, they drove him back to Tionesta.

Morgan Zier sent her Flat Stanley to York, Pa., to visit Aunt Grace. He had the chance to visit the family and their two puppies. He then met up with his cousins.

Flat Stanley Travels to Wyoming, Alaska, Colorado, and More

Flat Stanley has started to arrive back to East Forest from some very long journeys.

Brody Hartle: Wyoming — Flat Stanley visited Green River and climbed some beautiful mountains.

Vera Heferle: Alaska — Stanley got to be front and center for the start of the Iditarod.

Luke Simpson: Evergreen, Colorado — Flat Stanley spent time with Luke’s Uncle Justin in the mountains near Denver, Colorado.

Caleb Carney: Cadogan, Pa. — Stanley visited a good friend of Caleb’s.

Jacob Glass: York, Pa. — Flat Stanley went to stay with Jacob’s Aunt Kim and had an opportunity to spend time with the baby calves.

Alexandria Carroll: Nunda, New York — Stanley got up close to some deer.

The students are still waiting to hear from Michigan, Arkansas, Florida, and all the way to Gwangiu, South Korea.
