Florence was born on June 18, 1944, to the late Lee E. and E. Louise (Minnick) Joiner, in Brookville, PA.

Florence was a natural born caregiver who helped raise her younger siblings; she took on various rolls of dressing, cooking, and teaching them to drive. She aided in the care of her mother when Louise became older, and she cared for Robert when he became ill. She would help anyone in need. Her sweet, kind, and gentle demeanor was recognized by all who knew her. She loved to laugh and she was always smiling.
