Piercy FlorenceFlorence W. Piercy, 94, of Oil City, died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at The Caring Place in Franklin with her daughter at her side.

Born July 15, 1921 in Widnoon, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Sara McGinnis Cobbett.

Mrs. Piercy had worked at Brody’s for 20 years and was an Avon representative for 30 years.

She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Piercy was an avid bingo player and card player. She loved to ride on the back of motorcycles and spend time with her family. She was a school guard for Oil City and a former Judge of Elections.

She was married to Julian L. Piercy, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara A. Boyd; a son, Robert F. Piercy; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela E. Piercy Miller, and a son-in-law, Donald Boyd.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home at 4 pm with Ken Miller from the Cornerstone Bible Church officiating.

Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to a charity of one’s choice.
