Florida Man Accused of Accessing Local Woman’s Bank Account

JENKS TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A warrant has been issued for a Florida man facing charges in Jenks Township, Forest County, after allegedly accessing a local woman’s bank account.

Court documents indicate the Marienville-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 23-year-old Kevin Torna Martinez-Fortun of Hialeah, Florida, on August 8:

– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Immovable Property, Felony 3
– Theft By Deception-False Impression, Felony 3
– Access Device Is Counterfeit, Altered, Incomplete, Felony 3
– Publish, Make, See, Etc Access Device Altered, Felony 3

According to a criminal complaint, on June 9, 2017, a Marienville woman reported to Marienville-based State Police that a total of $742.22 had been unlawfully debited from her banking account with at least four unlawful transactions occurring at different Pennsylvania locations.

On June 9, 2017, Trooper Smith, of PSP Marienville, contacted a Sheetz loss investigation representative and requested any information pertaining to a transaction from a Sheetz location in Sarver, Pa. Trooper Smith was provided with video snapshots from various cameras and angles that provided a clear shot of a New York registration plate attached to a black 2016 Buick Enclave registered to a rental company.

According to the complaint, further investigation revealed the vehicle in question was rented by Kevin Martinez-Fortun. Additional images of the vehicle revealed the sole individual entering and exiting the vehicle matched the description of Martinez-Fortun.

The complaint also states that through the investigation, it was discovered that Martinez-Fortun was also wanted in Wisconsin for credit card fraud, forgery, and related financial card crimes.

Based on the investigation, charges were filed against Martinez-Fortun on Wednesday, August 8, in Magisterial District Judge Daniel L. Miller’s office.

A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.
