DunlapFloyd E. Dunlap Sr., 81, of Franklin, died unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, August 25.

Born September 12, 1934, in Franklin, Floyd was the son of Sherman and Marion Wilhelm Dunlap Sr. He was married to the former Barbara A. Rembold who survives.

Floyd retired in 1982 from CPT and was the former owner/operator of Dunlap Sales and Service. He was an active member of the Canal Wesleyan Methodist Church, where he served as Elder, on the Board of Trustees, and was an usher. Floyd enjoyed hunting, reading his Bible, mowing grass, and especially spending time with his grandson.

In addition to his wife, Floyd is survived by his son, Floyd Dunlap, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Franklin; and his grandson, Aaron Dunlap and his wife, Robin, of Wellington, Fla. He is also survived by his 5 sisters, Alberta Peterson of Franklin, Leora Thompson of Whittier, Calif., Ethel Rice and her husband, Wayne, of Cooperstown, Patricia Hartzell of Franklin, and Joyce Mays and her husband, Vance, of Franklin.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Martin Dunlap, Sherman Dunlap, Jr., Lawrence Dunlap, and Edward Dunlap, Sr; his sisters, Margaret Bean and Mary Pyle; and his four infant siblings who died at birth – Dolly, Mabel, Robert and James Dunlap.

Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Friday, August 26, from 4 to 8 p.m., and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, at the Canal Wesleyan Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church following visitation, with Rev. David Cope, pastor of the church and Rev. R. Mark Miller, pastor of the Meadville Wesleyan Methodist Church co-officiating.

Interment will be in Lupher Chapel Cemetery.
