MARIENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Three men are facing felony charges following a recent drug bust in Marienville, Forest County.

Police say the incident happened on September 11, 2014, around 10:30 a.m., when a Confidential State Police Informant (CI) allegedly purchased approximately 75 Stamp Bags of heroin from Charles A. Townsend, Jr., 21, of Wilkinsburg, Pa., for $700.00.

According to a Criminal Complaint filed at District Judge Daniel Miller’s Office, the transaction took place in a room at motel in Marienville, Forest County.

At approximately 10:38 a.m., a traffic stop was conducted on State Route 66, just south of the motel where the transaction allegedly occurred.

Townsend was present in the vehicle along with Jeffrey N. Baldwin, 19, of Turtle Creek, Pa. and Trenton F. Morris, 21, of North Versailles, Pa.

Following the traffic stop, U.S. currency was found in the pockets of Morris and Baldwin. Police used prerecorded serial numbers on the currency to confirm it was the same money used to purchase the heroin, according to the complaint.

The informant (CI) stated that when he arrived at the motel room, Townsend was in the room and Morris outside near a vehicle in the motel parking lot. When Morris entered the room, he handed the heroin to Townsend, who handed it to the CI. The CI then handed the money to Townsend, according to the complaint.

The following charges were filed against each suspect:

– Conspiracy — Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver
– Intent Possess Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered
– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver

Townsend and Morris were lodged in the Warren County Prison in lieu of $75,000.00 bail each.

Baldwin was placed in the Warren County Prison in lieu of $100,000.00 bail.

All three men face preliminary hearings on September 16.

Townsend is facing additional drug charges in a separate case in which he allegedly sold 100 stamp bags of heroin to a Confidential State Police Informant on September 4 at the same motel.

In that case, Townsend is facing the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver
– Intent to Possess Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered

A preliminary hearing is set for September 16 in this case.
