FOREST CO., Pa. –  Forest County 4-H recently announced the selection of Annah Burke to the Pennsylvania State 4-H Council (PS4-HC).

“As a member of the PS4-HC, Annah will represent Forest County in a very distinguished role,” said 4-H Extension Educator Jennifer Grooms in a release issued Tuesday. “The mission of the PS4-HC is to promote and represent 4-H in everything they do with integrity, positive teamwork, and pride.”

“The vision of the PS4-HC is to strive for active participation in all aspects of the 4-H program and recognize the leadership and dedication needed to meet the mission of the Council.”

Annah is completing her fifth year in the 4-H program. She has participated in projects that have strengthened her leadership skills and prepared her for her role as a State Council member.

Additionally, Annah has served as a senior counselor at the Northwest Regional 4-H camp for the last two years. In this role, Annah plans and teaches programs to fellow teens members from any of the 10 counties in the northwest portion of Pennsylvania.

As the PS4-HC member, Annah is the reporter for the council. She will be an integral organizer of the 2018 Pennsylvania State 4-H Leadership Conference held annually in State College at the Penn Stater. Annah is the first Forest County 4-H member selected for the PS4-HC. She will promote the 4-H program by speaking to her peers and adults in many forums.

Annah is the daughter of John and Stacy Burke and is a senior at the Tidioute Charter School.

She is the first Forest County 4-H member selected for the Pennsylvania State 4-H Council.

The 4-H program is a youth development program of Penn State Extension. It is open to all youth between the ages of 8 and 18, without regard to ancestry, color, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, or place of residence.
