TIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) – Forest County now has an anonymous tip line that people can call to report drug trafficking or selling activities.

According to the sheriff’s department, District Attorney Barbara Litten, and Sheriff Bob Wolfgang (pictured above) teamed up to create the tip line to help battle the ever-increasing drug problems, especially opioids.

Tips can be left anonymously on the line at 814-755-2585, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“I’ve been in the sheriff’s department 31 years and 16 as the sheriff, and as it has across the country, it’s grown exponentially,” Wolfgang said. “It’s a major problem, and we’re just trying to do what we can, and we want people (to know) we’re not going to put up with it here.”

Calls will be answered in person Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. After regular business hours, messages can be left.

Wolfgang also said he and his five deputies were sworn in by Litten, who created a Drug Task Force in the county to work with the state.

“We’ve been doing some investigations with the Attorney General’s office,” Wolfgang said.

All Forest County officers in the sheriff’s department carry NARCAN, but Wolfgang said they haven’t had to use it.
