Former Emlenton Woman Accused of Operating Meth Lab in Butler County

BUTLER CO., Pa. (EYT) — A former Emlenton woman is facing a list of criminal charges for allegedly operating a methamphetamine lab at a residence in Center Township, Butler County.

According to court documents, on September 11, Butler-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 24-year-old Jennifer Marie Elder, of Butler:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Possessing Phenylpropanolamine, etc., or a Precursor Substance with Intent to Unlawfully Manufacture, Felony
– Operating a Methamphetamine Lab, Felony 2
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
– Knowingly Possessing Ephedrine, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

According to a published article in the Butler Eagle, Jennifer Elder was arrested on April 24 on suspicion of making methamphetamine following a home visit by Clarion County probation officers. A search of the residence resulted in the discovery of ammonium sulfate and other chemicals used to produce the drug.

Elder also allegedly had methamphetamine in her possession along with ephedrine.

Lab results also revealed a coffee filter and a glass jar with methamphetamine in it that were discovered during the search of the residence.

Elder was arraigned at 11:00 a.m. on September 12 in front of Magisterial District Judge Lewis E. Stoughton.

Bail for this case was set on September 12 at $100,000.00 monetary.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on September 25 with Judge Stoughton presiding.

Elder is currently lodged in the Clarion County Jail stemming from a 2017 drug possession case and a burglary.
