VENANGO COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — A former Crawford County Jail warden is facing charges after he allegedly solicited an underage Venango County teen for sex.

The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations filed the following charges Tuesday against Timmy Lee Lewis, 54, of Meadville:

  • Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
  • Promoting Prostitution, Misdemeanor 2
  • Indecent Exposure, Misdemeanor 2
  • Open Lewdness, Misdemeanor 3

The charges were filed via summons.

A release issued by the state police indicates that Lewis allegedly sent several communications to a 17-year-old Venango County male, requesting to meet him for sex.

Lewis is also accused of offering the victim money in exchange for sex.

The victim did not accept Lewis’ alleged propositions, according to police.

Additionally, Lewis is accused of exposing himself to the victim.

Lewis faces a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland on June 7 at 1:30 p.m.

The case will be prosecuted by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.

In October 2016, the former Crawford County jail warden received an eight- to 23-month sentence for stealing money from a private club, according to the Meadville Tribune.

He was released from the Erie County Prison for health reasons on March 13, 2017, after serving a little more than five months of the sentence.
