Former Knox Woman Wins 1st Place in Farm Show Pie Competition

HARRISBURG, Pa. (EYT) — A former Knox woman can now officially say she makes the best apple pie in the state!

Marie Miller, a former Knox resident who currently resides in Cumberland County, was the winner of this year’s Blue Ribbon Apple Pie contest at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.

According to The Sentinel, Miller’s caramel pecan apple pie, made with Granny Smith and Pink Lady apples, went head-to-head with 69 other pies to take the coveted blue ribbon.

Second place was awarded to Dorothy Martin, of Conestoga, third place to Laura Bomgardner, of Jonestown, fourth place to Sharon Karlheim, of Patton, and fifth place to Debra Martin Berkoski, of Conestoga.
