Former Oil City Resident Killed after Motorcycle Collides with Horse

SHREVEPORT, La. — A Louisiana man died when his motorcycle collided with a horse on December 27.

According to police, the accident happened around 6 a.m. on Jefferson Paige Road in Caddo Parrish, Louisiana.

Police say 53-year-old Mathew Hale, of Shreveport, was traveling west on a 2012 Yamaha when a horse ran out in front of him.

Mr. Hale’s motorcycle subsequently collided with the horse.

He was transferred to LSU Hospital in Shreveport where he died from his injuries.

The horse also died in the accident, according to authorities.

Matthew grew up on Linden Ave. in Oil City and was a 1979 graduate of Oil City High School.
