Foster LylesFoster L. Lyles, 74, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, March 28th at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Born March 1, 1943 in Franklin, Foster was the son of the late Floyd Vincent and Madolyn Law Lyles.

Foster was a 1961 graduate of Franklin High School. He worked at CPT as a foundry worker for more than 15 years, and retired from Venango County in 2010 after being employed for the county as Chief Deputy Warden for more than 40 years.

Foster had a great sense of humor and enjoyed drinking scotch and smoking cigars until his doctor made him “give them up”. He also had a passion for “big, old” Cadillacs. During his younger years Foster also enjoyed hunting. He was a social patron of the Jesse G. Greer V.F.W. Post in Franklin and an avid Steeler’s fan.

Foster is survived by his two sisters, Diana Owens and her husband, Willie, of Oil City; and Patricia Jarzenske and her husband, Arthur, of Rocky Grove. He is also survived by a good friend, C. Robert. Bowen, of Franklin; As well as his nephews, Willie M. Owens II, of Butler; Jon Jarzenske and his wife Stacie, of Grove City and Matthew Jarzenske and his wife Anita, of Franklin. He is additionally survived by his great nieces and nephews, Donte Brandon and Myrik Owens, of Butler; Cheyenne and Jacob Jarzenske, of Grove City; Jessica, Kayla and Lainie Jarzenske; Jacob and Kolton Lowrie all of Franklin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Vincent Lyles, Jr.; As well as a niece, Marsha L. Owens.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation for Foster. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. His arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin.
