FOXBURG, Pa. (EYT) — A boil water advisory has been issued in the Foxburg area.

According to Gwen Atwood, Secretary/Treasurer for the Foxburg Water and Sewer Authority, a Boil Water Advisory was issued after the Foxburg Water and Sewer Authority found a line break on River Road.

Atwood said that although no contamination has been found, the loss of positive pressure in the line creates a potential for contamination.

Foxburg Water and Sewer Authority is asking customers in the area to boil any water before using it for drinking or cooking.

There are currently crews working to fix the line and make certain the system is clear.

Once the leak is fixed and the system is back up and running properly, the water will be tested, then tested a second time 24 hours later. Once two consecutive tests are clear, the advisory will be lifted.

According to Atwood, the advisory will therefore remain in effect for at least three days.
