Frances-Fonzo-1499607234Frances N. Fonzo, 87, of Franklin, died on July 8, 2017, after a courageous seven year battle with cancer.

She was born in Meadville on January 10, 1930, the daughter of John and Beatrice Dilluvio Zuchero.

After graduating from Meadville High School in 1948 she worked as a secretary at the Thomas and Thomas law firm in Meadville.

On October 10, 1953, she married Salvatore A. Fonzo at Saint Mary’s Church in Meadville, and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1995.

Mrs. Fonzo worked as a secretary to Attorney Robert Y. Daniels, at Venango Federal Savings, and the Franklin Club.

She was a long-time faithful and active member of Saint Patrick Church, the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and the Catholic Daughters of America.

For many years she volunteered with the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.

She was an avid reader and proud of her Italian heritage which was reflected in her cooking and baking and in her observance of the holidays.

Her family was everything to her. She is survived by her children, John (Colleen) Fonzo of Irwin, Tammy (Ronald) Buck of Phoenix, Arizona, Jackie (James) Fink of Stow, Ohio, and Christopher (Sandra) Fonzo of Cleveland, Ohio and her grandchildren Stephen Fonzo, Patrick Fonzo, Caitlin Fonzo, Claire Fonzo, William Buck, Rachel Buck, Michael Fink, Samantha Fink, Madeline Fink, and Christopher Fonzo, Jr. She is also survived by her sisters, Christine Ferrare and Rosemarie Zuchero.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Zuchero.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 9:00 – 10:45 A.M. Wednesday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in St. Patrick Church, 949 Liberty St. Franklin with Monsignor John J. Herbein, officiating,

Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
