Francis J. Wolbert Sr., 77, of Shippenville, passed away on Thursday June 22, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on September 16, 1939 in Lucinda, the son of the late Cyril Wolbert Sr. and Philomena Baumcratz Wolbert.

Francis was married on May 26, 1962 to Linda Hallberg whom preceded him in death on January 3, 2014.

He was a truck driver / laborer all his life and retired from Miles Development.

Francis was of Catholic faith.

He enjoyed hunting, watching the Pirates and Steelers, yard work, gardening, and his dog, puppy.

Francis is survived by five children; Marcy Montana and husband Bret, Frank Jr. and wife Nancy all of Strattanville, Virgil and wife Kathy of Knox, Doug and wife Shayla of Crown and Scott and wife Stephanie of Shippenville; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; Bonnie Carroll Judy of Shippenville, Mary Bauer of Falls Church, Virginia, Mike Wolbert, Marge Bauer and husband James “Doc”, Cyril Wolbert Jr. all of Lucinda and Suzanne Carbaugh and husband Curtis of Marienville.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Patrick and Steve and sisters, Norma Lauer and Dorothy Lauer.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home 638 wood St., Clarion, a Christian Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion with the Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor presiding.
