595562626dc5b-cv1Frank Denton “Mick” Borland, 78, of Cranberry-Rockland Road in Kennerdell, Rockland Township, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, June 28, 2017.

He was lovingly carried from his recliner to his Eternal Home by his Heavenly Father.

He was born January 8, 1939 in Rockland to the late Walter “Shorty” and Lois (Cox) Borland.

Mick was a 1957 graduate of Cranberry High School.

He was married to the love of his life, Margaret “Peggy” (Lehman) Borland on July 12, 1958; and she was waiting for him at Heaven’s Gate with her arms open wide.

A member of Seneca United Methodist Church, Mick volunteered with the Church Food Pantry, sang in the choir, and cooked hotdogs at the annual church yard sale.

Frank loved the outdoors, especially camping. He and his wife co-owned and operated East Sandy Creek Campground with Jim and Jean Bell. In later years, he was the honored guest at trout camp. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Mr. Borland worked at the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company in Franklin as a teenager, and continued at C.P.T. until its closing. Following that, he worked at Allied near Cleveland, Ohio.

In addition to his cherished mother-in-law, Lavinia “Vinnie” Lehman, he is survived by three children: Teresa A. Shaderline and her husband Craig of Newell, West Virginia; Michael F. Borland and his wife Penny of Franklin; and Douglas P. Borland and his wife Lisa of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Kayla Shaderline, Cody Shaderline and his fiancé Roslyn, Nahtanha Brown and her husband Vern, Nathan Borland and his wife Angela, Tierney Goncalves and her husband Lu, Emily Taylor and her fiancé John, and Tyler and Justin Borland; and nine great-grandchildren: Josh, Zak, Connor, Rebekah, Rachael, Isabellah, Giulianna, Giovanni, and Lilliannah.

Surviving also is his sister, Judy Larimore and her husband Don; two brothers, Greg Borland and his wife Connie and Richard “Skip” Borland and his wife Mary Ann; a brother-in-law, Fred Lehman and his wife Bobbe; and a sister-in-law, Barb Dittman and her husband Gary.

Through the years, many pets have become members of the Borland family. During the last five years, “Teddy” has been Mick’s faithful companion.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mick was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Paul Lehman; and a brother-in-law, Denny Lehman and his wife Joanne, and their son, Nathan.

Family and friends will be received Sunday (July 2nd) from noon until 6 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held Monday (July 3rd) at 11 a.m. in Seneca United Methodist Church, 196 East State Road in Seneca. The Rev. William E. Hastings, church pastor, will officiate.
