Frank RiddleFrank L. Riddle, 86, of 110 W 6th St, Oil City, died at 9:52 pm, Wednesday, February 8, 29017, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Born April 13, 1930 in Oil City, he was a son of the late Frank M. and Laura J. Maloney Riddle.

Frank served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He retired after 38 years of service from the City of Oil City Fire Department. He also worked at Sears for 30 years.

Frank was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Steelers, in his younger years played handball and racquetball at the YMCA and was an advocate for fire safety.

Frank was a life time member of the NRA and shot in pistol competitions.

On March 10, 1951, he married the former Helen L. Mays, who preceded him in death on March 3, 2014.

Surviving are three sons, Frank Riddle and wife Rebecca of Franklin, David Riddle and Michelle Morgan, and Jeffrey Riddle and Ashley Ahrens, all of Oil City; two daughters, Julie Dunn of Oil City, and Linda Spicer and husband Jason of Irvine; a granddaughter, Jessica Katsikarow and husband Nikos of Greece and two great grandchildren, Lily and Gus Katsikarow of Greece.

Also surviving is a brother, Richard Riddle of State College.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Riddle.

A Memorial Service will be held in Bethel United Methodist Church, 486 Colbert Ave, Oil City, at 11 am on Saturday, February 18th with the Rev. Donald Rudge, officiating.

Interment will be in Melat Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bethel United Methodist Church, the Venango County Humane Society or to the local American Red Cross.
