FRENCHCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a one vehicle accident occurred early yesterday morning on Georgetown Road, in Frenchcreek Township, Venango County.

Police say this one-vehicle crash occurred around 12:53 a.m. as a 2008 GMC Canyon — driven by 47-year-old Melissa J. Reed, of Franklin — was traveling east on Georgetown Road and hit a patch of ice on the roadway.

According to police, Reed applied the brakes, and the vehicle started into a counter-clockwise rotation. The back of the vehicle hit an embankment off the left side of the road and rolled over. It came to a final rest in a ditch.

Reed and a passenger — 48-year-old Charles D. Reed, of Franklin — were using seat belts and were not injured.
