Franklin Fire Department Battles House Fire

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — The Franklin Fire Department responded to a reported structural fire at 226 Buffalo Street, on Monday afternoon.

The call came in at 4:06 p.m.

Franklin Fire Department responded with one engine and 12 firefighters.

When crews arrived, there was light smoke visible from the rear of the house.

According to Fire Chief James Wetzel, when firefighters entered, they were unable to locate any visible fire but encountered light smoke before finding and containing the fire to the stove.

The house sustained light smoke damage, but no structural or water damage.  Damage has been estimated at approximately $500 for the structure and contents.

The house is owned by Samuel A. Saeli of Franklin.

It was occupied by Gary and April Lepley and they were home at the time. The Lepleys have renter’s insurance.

Franklin Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Franklin City Police and Community Ambulance Service.
