Franklin Grad Carr sets CSAC Record in Winning 1,500-meter Run for PSU Behrend

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Savanna Carr, a Franklin graduate running for Penn State Behrend, set a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) record in the 1,500-meter run Saturday at the CSAC Championships Saturday.

Carr won the 1,500 in a time of 4:52.55 and was one of five Lions runners to score in the event. She was joined by Jenna Shelton (second; 4:53.57), Riley Crissman of Bradford (fourth, 4:57.22), Country Sargent (sixth, 5:09.87) and Kelly Giles (eighth, 5:14.29). (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) took second and fourth respectively, crossing the finish line at 4:53.57 and 4:58.22. Country Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) and Kelley Giles (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin).

Thanks in part to the 1,500-meter runners, Penn State Behrend was in second place after the first day of the championships with 63 points just five behind the leader, Marywood University.
