Franklin High School Holds First Health Fair

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin High School hosted its first health fair on Tuesday.

Allegheny Valley Trails Association and the League of American Bicyclists gave a presentation on bicycle safety, pictured above.

Nancy Ambrose, of Keystone SMILES AmeriCorps, explained their program to students in grades 9-11.

“We have the program in Oil City, and there was some interest from the students at Franklin, so it was a good experience,” Ambrose said.

UPMC Northwest presented information about diabetes, blood pressure screening, physical therapy, and nutrition.

The county sheriff’s office gave a self-defense presentation while students received health information from a variety of organizations from the following exhibitors:

– Impel Pilates and Yoga Studio

– Adagio Health

– Clarion University Career Office

– Northwest Tobacco Control Program

– Metz Food Service

– YMCA
