FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A new principal was officially hired for Victory and Sandycreek Elementary Schools on Monday.

According to Sabrina Backer, Vice-President of the Franklin Area School Board, the board unanimously voted to appoint Tom Holoman at a salary of $84,500.00.

Holoman has been the acting principal at the two schools since early this year.

Before filling in the principal positions, Holoman had also served as an assistant junior high school principal in the district.

He will be replacing George Forster, who was on administrative leave for a portion of the previous school year.

Backer was unable to comment on Forester’s current employment status, citing a “personnel matter.”

Holoman’s appointment fills the elementary principal position but leaves another vacancy for an assistant principal at Franklin Junior-Senior High School, along with the position left vacant by the retirement of assistant senior high school principal George Svolos in June.
