Franklin Man Accused of Grabbing Sister by Throat, Choking Her

SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Franklin man is facing charges following an incident in which he allegedly choked his sister during a domestic dispute in Sandycreek Township.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 38-year-old Bobby Lee Roxberry, of Franklin.

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:33 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, Trooper Owens, of the Franklin-based State Police, was dispatched to a location on Pioneer Road in Franklin, Sandycreek Township, Venango County, for a domestic incident involving two siblings.

According to the complaint, Trooper Owens made contact with the victim who related that she began to open the mail when Bobby Roxberry became upset with her and grabbed her by the throat, choking her to the point of cutting off her air.

The complaint notes that Trooper Owens observed visible redness around the victim’s neck.

Based on the investigation, Roxberry was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, on the following charges:

– Strangulation – Applying Pressure to Throat or Neck, Felony 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to post $10,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on July 10, in Venango County Central Court.
